Did you know that you must have a minimum of Certificate III before you can take part in a rewarding career working with children? At ATMC we deliver the nationally recognised Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care.

What you will learn
With the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care you’ll learn how to:

  • Support the health, wellbeing and development of young children
  • Provide an enriching learning environment in line with approved learning frameworks
  • Ensure that all the needs of children in your care are met, and
  • Operate safely and effectively within the context of an early childhood service

Work placement
This course includes a minimum of 160 hours of practical placement. ATMC has a dedicated Work Placement Officer who will work with you to source your placement. Once in their first placement the majority of our students gain ongoing employment!

Study pathways
Once you have completed your Certificate III and gained some experience, the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is your next step.

Facilties 
ATMC VET delivers out of a brand new state of the art campus located at 470 Bourke St, Melbourne. For students studying early childhood education and care this includes a simulated childcare facility designed to help you get a feel for working in the real world.

Units

Entry Requirements:
Domestic

You need to have:

  • completed Year 12 or equivalent,
  • have English and Math equivalent to Year 11 level,
  • be over 18 years of age and,
  • completed a Pre-Training Review (PTR).
International

You need to have:

  • completed Year 12 or equivalent,
  • an IELTS of 5.5 (or equivalent) with no band less than 5.0
  • Math equivalent to Year 11 level,
  • be over 18 years of age and,
  • completed a Pre-Training Review (PTR).
Fees:
Domestic

Skills First Funding is available for eligible students. If you are eligible for Skills First Funding you will only need to pay the materials fee. Check your eligibility here.
